Introductory Robotics
Dates: June 19 - June 23

The Patriot Robotics Summer Institute provides students the opportunity to create, develop, discover and have fun. The “Introductory Robotics” program explores basic robotics features such as driving, lifting and grabbing to find the best robot feature suited for a task. Participants will work in small groups and use the VEX Robotics platform to investigate these mechanical design features. The program fosters the skills of teamwork, hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. The groups will construct robots to compete in daily Mini Challenges and conclude the week with a Robots Tournament.

Intermediate Robotics
Dates: June 26 - June 30

The Patriot Robotics Summer Institute provides students the opportunity to create, develop, discover and have fun. The “Intermediate Robotics” program explores advanced mechanical features such as scissor lifts and gear ratios. The course introduces the connection between hardware and software with a first look at basic programming. Participants will use the VEX Robotics platform to investigate these design features and build robots to perform a specialized task. In small groups, the participants will work together to achieve a common goal. They will learn to budget time and resources to meet the goal.
